Who We Are

About Us

The word 'Pistis' is a Greek word that means Faith. The ministry started 12 years ago as a fellowship on campus known as 'Passion For Souls Outreach'. Passion For Souls Outreach had branches in over 28 higher institutions in Nigeria. Additionally, we had an expression called 'In His Presence,' focused on bringing the light of the gospel to secondary school students.

In 2017, God led us out of the school campus where we operated as a fellowship into the city, where we now function as an interdenominational church, advancing the kingdom of Christ and reconciling people to God. The move led to the change of name from 'Passion for Souls' to 'the Pistis Place', with a mandate of birthing convictions in the heart of men, through the instrumentality of God's Word and His Spirit.

Pastor Japheth Joseph

Pastor Japheth Joseph is a devoted shepherd and teacher committed to raising believers grounded in sound doctrine, demonstrating the power of the Holy Ghost whilst maintaining a high level of conviction.

His innovative approach to ministry and attention to detail have made him a respected voice for believers worldwide, with a passion for equipping the saints for the work of ministry.

There's no self made man in the world, it is God in partnership with man that lifts people up.

At The Pistis Place, our core values are rooted in God's Word, which we believe is the catalyst for life change (Hebrews 4:12).

We prioritize worship, recognizing the spiritual battle for our minds, and anticipating God's wonders in our lives. We value honour, restoration, and faith in God, who empowers us through His anointing.

Pastor Japheth Joseph, Shepherds the members of church with a high level of commitment and is dedicated to raising people who are taught accurate doctrine, demonstrating the power of the Holy Ghost whilst maintaining a high level of conviction.

In addition to shepherding the Pistis Place flock, he is an instructor at the Grace Family School of Holy Spirit, Uyo and also a lecturer with the Department of History and International Studies, University of Uyo, Uyo.

Through sound biblical teaching, passionate worship, and genuine fellowship, we create an environment where believers can grow in their relationship with God and discover their divine purpose.
